Ishii Foods and TBM Conclude Basic Agreement to Reduce Environmental Burden, and Jointly Work on Development of Food Packaging (Soft Packaging Material) Using New Material LIMEX

Ishii Shokuhin Co., Ltd., which is making products with additive-free cooking*, uses limestone as the main raw material and does not use water or wood pulp as a raw material to replace paper and reduce the amount of petroleum-based raw materials used to replace plastic. TBM has conducted joint research and development on the new material "LIMEX", aiming to reduce environmental impact, and has concluded a basic agreement to develop new applications for LIMEX.

Based on this basic agreement, the two companies will provide food packaging (flexible packaging materials) for Ishii Foods' main product Obentokun Meatballs, the Obentokun series, and Chicken Hamburg steak. In addition to switching to LIMEX by 2021, we will promote the reduction of environmental impact in the food industry by using LIMEX for trays for New Year's dishes.
