  • LIMEX

Japanese Only - “LIMEX Sheet”, which is made from limestone as the main raw material, has been adopted by Daido Life Insurance for document storage envelopes.

~Assessing environmental performance that can contribute to reducing petroleum-based plastics and greenhouse gases~

TBM Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Nobuyoshi Yamasaki; hereinafter "TBM") has been adopted by Daido Life Insurance Company (Head Office: Osaka City, Osaka; President: Mutsuro Kitahara; hereinafter "Daido Life Insurance") for use in envelopes used to store documents. The adoption of this product was based on its environmental performance that reduces the amount of plastic used and greenhouse gas emissions, and on its ability to reproduce the same shape as before by taking advantage of the processability of LIMEX Sheet. petroleum-based Commercialization of this product was made possible through collaboration with Ainz Corporation (Head office: Gamo-gun, Shiga Prefecture; President: Akira Taniguchi), which promotes environmental printing. Compared to conventional polypropylene (PP) envelopes, petroleum-based the use of plastic can be reduced by about 32%, and greenhouse gas emissions, including CO2, are expected to be curbed by about 32%*1.

LIMEX Sheet can reduce petroleum-based plastic usage compared to sheets molded from petroleum-based plastic. In addition, TBM's own factory (Tagajo city, Miyagi Prefecture), where LIMEX Sheet is manufactured, uses electricity with virtually "zero CO2 emission factor," thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions including CO2 over the entire product life cycle.

*1 From LCA by TBM (calculation of greenhouse gas emissions from raw material procurement, sheet production, and disposal [incineration] <envelope production, printing, and transportation processes are omitted>).
May vary depending on manufacturing conditions. These are reference values and are not guaranteed.

◾️ Features of LIMEX Sheet

・Reduction of Petroleum-Based Plastic Usage

Using limestone as the main raw material reduces plastic compared to conventional sheets made of petroleum-based plastics, contributing to the conservation of petroleum resources.

・Reducing greenhouse gas emissions

By reducing the amount of plastic usage, greenhouse gas can be reduced over the entire life cycle from raw material procurement to disposal compared to conventional petroleum-based plastic sheets.

・Excellent durability and water resistance

Because of its durability and water resistance, LIMEX Sheet can be used in the same applications as conventional petroleum-based plastic sheets.
