Japanese Only - Bio LIMEX Bag adopted for shopping bags at all 199 bookstores including “TSUTAYA”, “Libro”, “Sekibunkan Bookstore” and “BOOKS Emitsu” operated by the Nikka Group
Reduce petroleum-based plastics usage by approximately 20 tons per year and greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 72 tons

TBM Co., Ltd., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Nobuyoshi Yamasaki; hereinafter referred to as TBM) is pleased to announce that its eco-friendly "Bio LIMEX Bag," made from limestone and plant-derived resin, has been adopted for shopping grocery bag at all 199 bookstores operated by Nippan Group Holdings Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Eisaku Yoshikawa; hereinafter referred to as Nippan Group Holdings), including "TSUTAYA," "Libro," "Sekibunkan Shoten," and "BOOKS Emitas." This marks the first time that a bookstore group has introduced Bio LIMEX Bags.
By switching from conventional petroleum-based plastics grocery bag to Bio LIMEX Bags, which use limestone and plant-derived resin, it is expected that the amount of petroleum-based plastics used will be reduced by approximately 20 tons per year, and greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced by approximately 72 tons.* 1 The Bio LIMEX Bag has received high praise both at home and abroad, winning the Good Design Award's "Good Design Best 100" in 2020 and being selected as one of the TOP 100 in the "Design Intelligence Award 2021," one of China's leading international design awards.
Nippan Group Holdings has adopted the ESG slogan "Creating a gentler future into a new culture," and is implementing various measures to reduce environmental impact, such as the "ONE ECO PROJECT," which plans and supports eco-activities that the publishing industry should undertake, and promoting the use of recycled resources in logistics materials. Recently, as Nippan Group Holdings is reviewing its grocery bag practices at bookstores it operates, the company has recognized the environmental performance of Bio LIMEX Bags and has adopted them. TBM will continue to promote the further spread of LIMEX products in the retail industry, aiming to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
