TBM Co., Ltd., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Nobuyoshi Yamasaki, hereinafter referred to as TBM) has been certified by the SBT (Science Based Targets) Initiative (hereinafter referred to as SBTi) for the 1.5°C target for greenhouse gas reduction targets. , and signed "The Climate Pledge" jointly launched by Amazon and Global Optimism.

SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative)
An international climate change initiative jointly established in 2015 by the United Nations Global Compact, CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), WRI (World Resources Institute), and WWF (World Wildlife Fund). We promote the setting of consistent greenhouse gas emission reduction targets. By receiving SBTi certification, companies and organizations will be able to meet their greenhouse gas emission reduction targets in line with the Paris Agreement's goal of keeping the global temperature rise well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels and striving to limit the increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius. You can publicly declare that you comply with the goal of "pursuing

The Climate Pledge
In 2019, Amazon and Global Optimism jointly launched The Climate Pledge, pledging to reach net zero carbon by 2040, ten years ahead of the Paris Agreement. As of March 2022, more than 300 companies have signed up to The Climate Pledge, demonstrating that demand for products and services to reduce carbon emissions will grow rapidly in the future.

Overview

TBM is taking a variety of approaches to addressing climate change, including introducing renewable energy sources at its manufacturing sites and voluntarily responding to the climate change questionnaire of CDP, an international environmental information disclosure platform. In August 2021, on the occasion of its 10th anniversary, the company set an ambitious goal, the "TBM Pledge 2030," pledging to become carbon negative by 2030. The greenhouse gas emission reduction targets in the "TBM Pledge 2030" were carefully designed to meet the standards set by the SBTi. The targets have now been officially recognized by the SBTi as science-based targets that meet the 1.5°C target outlined in the Paris Agreement. TBM has also signed The Climate Pledge, which joins over 300 other companies, and agreed to the following three points:

- Regular measurement and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions
Implementing Decarbonization strategies aligned with the Paris Agreement through business transformation and innovation, including efficiency improvements, renewable energy, raw material reduction, and other carbon emissions reduction strategies.
Add substantial, permanent, quantifiable, and socially beneficial offsets to carbon neutralize the remaining carbon emissions and achieve net-zero annual carbon emissions by 2040.

In January 2022, TBM published the "Vision Book," a booklet summarizing TBM's aspirations, activities, and structure based on its corporate philosophy system, "TBM Compass," and ambitious goals, "TBM Pledge 2030." By participating in this international initiative and engaging in dialogue and collaboration with an even wider range of stakeholders through the "Vision Book," TBM aims to realize a "Sustainability Revolution."
