TBM and Glory jointly develop "LX Coat" ballot paper using "LIMEX Sheet"

Achieving both environmental performance and functionality, and promoting mechanical recycling to recover and recycle after use

TBM Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Nobuyoshi Yamasaki, hereinafter referred to as TBM) is pleased to announce that Glory Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, President & CEO: Motojun Miwa, hereinafter referred to as "Glory"), a currency processor manufacturer operating in more than 100 countries of the world, and "LX Coat" (hereinafter referred to as "LX Coat", a ballot paper made from "LIMEX Sheet" made from limestone as the main raw material. Patent pending). This product will be available at ALMOTT, Glory's official mail order store, from August 1, 2023.

Compared to conventional synthetic paper, LIMEX Sheet reduces the use of petroleum-based plastics and greenhouse gas emissions, including CO2. Furthermore, compared to paper, LIMEX Sheet does not use any wood pulp as a raw material, significantly reducing water consumption during manufacturing, thereby contributing to the conservation of forests and water resources. By combining TBM's specialized processing technology cultivated through the development of LIMEX with Glory's recognition and identification technology, we have developed "LX Coat" ballot paper that can be counted using existing counting machines. Compared to conventional paper, LX Coat is more durable, less likely to crease, and even if folded, it quickly unfolds inside the box, facilitating smooth vote counting. "LX Coat" is available in 17 colors, making it ideal for simultaneous elections. Going forward, we will work with Glory to promote mechanical recycling by collecting and recycling used "LX Coat" paper after its storage period has expired.
