Declaration of Action on International Women's Day to Strengthen D&I (Diversity & Inclusion) Initiatives

TBM Co., Ltd., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Nobuyoshi Yamasaki, hereinafter referred to as TBM) will announce IWD2021 on March 8, 2021 (Monday), "International Women's Day (hereinafter referred to as IWD)". We are pleased to inform you that we have implemented a declaration of action based on the theme of “#ChooseToChallenge”. We will further strengthen our efforts based on the theme of TBM's "Diversity & Inclusion" (hereinafter referred to as D&I), "Diverse members understand and respect each other, and create the future we want to advance through innovation with our partners." .
■ D&I initiatives to date
For TBM to take on global challenges, it is essential to create an organization that respects diversity and has strengths. In order to increase interest in D&I and to enable individuals to act with consideration, we publish D&I Tsushin, which shares knowledge on gender, race, religion, etc., hold IWD events, etc. We have made various efforts to create opportunities for employees to talk with each other and “sympathize”. In addition, in November 2020, in the “Values X”, which defines the thoughts and actions that each person working at TBM should rely on for each purpose and situation, we have established a TBM Sustainable Style that considers D&I perspectives. We are also promoting the “practice” of D&I.
IWD2021
TBM has been holding IWD events since 2019 as an opportunity to think deeply about women and gender and take action. In this year's IWD event, which is the third year, we mainly implemented two initiatives.
As the first initiative, by making a declaration of action to promote gender equality, we believe that we can take responsibility for our actions more than ever, and based on the theme of IWD2021, “#ChooseToChallenge”. Then, the employees made a declaration of action about "what to start now" and "what to continue". As a second initiative, IWD's symbolic mimosa flowers were displayed at the Tokyo Headquarters, Tokyo Lab, and Shiroishi / Tagajo Plant (Miyagi Prefecture), providing an opportunity for the entire TBM company to think about gender equality.
Through these efforts, we will strengthen the creation of an environment where not only TBM employees but also all people involved in TBM can work energetically.
