~ Approximately 10% lighter and up to 29% less CO2 emissions than plastic bags ~

TBM Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Nobuyoshi Yamasaki; hereinafter referred to as TBM) is pleased to announce that it has developed the "LimeAir Bag," a plastic bag *1 containing approximately 25% limestone by weight.
By utilizing calcium carbonate uniform dispersion technology and void control technology, LimeAir Bags are approximately 10% lighter than conventional petroleum-based plastics plastic bags, reducing the amount of petroleum-based resin used by up to 34% and CO2 emissions by up to 29%. TBM will propose this product, LIMEX Bags, and CirculeX garbage bags made from recycled material to the retail industry and other sectors for use as grocery bag and garbage bags, depending on customer needs. This will promote the shift to alternative and recycled material materials for petroleum-based plastics, contributing to the reduction of petroleum-based plastics use and the expansion of recycling, which promotes material circulation.
