TBM establishes local subsidiary "腾必梦（上海）国际贸易有限公司" in China as a strategic base for global expansion
TBM Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has established a local subsidiary, 腾必梦（上海）国际贸易有限公司, in Shanghai, People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as China), as a strategic base to accelerate its global expansion.
China, the world's largest plastic market, has set decarbonization and the reduction of petroleum-based plastics as national policies, and the demand for environmentally friendly materials is on the rise. TBM is working on the promotion of environmentally friendly materials "LIMEX" and "CR LIMEX", which are made mainly from limestone and CO₂-derived calcium carbonate, as well as recycled plastics and material circulation businesses. With the establishment of this local subsidiary, TBM will strengthen collaboration with partners in China and accelerate expansion into global markets including Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, in addition to China.
◾️ Background
As climate change and resource depletion become more serious on a global scale, the Chinese government is promoting various policies under its national strategy "Ecological Civilization*1" to combat plastic pollution and achieve carbon neutrality, such as banning non-degradable plastic straws from restaurants nationwide in 2020*2. China has also set a "double-carbon" goal of peaking CO₂ emissions by 2030*3 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060*4. China's plastics industry is expected to continue growing at an average annual rate of more than 5%, with primary plastic production expected to reach 130 million tons in 2025, accounting for approximately one-third of the world's share*5. Meanwhile, a sense of crisis over environmental issues is driving demand for replacement with sustainable materials.

◾️Purpose of establishing a local subsidiary
・Expand sales and marketing network and strengthen technical support system
Our local staff will provide swift technical proposals and sales activities to molding manufacturers and brand owners in China. By working closely with our customers, we will accelerate the spread of mineral-based "LIMEX," CO₂-based low-carbon material "CR LIMEX," and recycled materials, contributing to reducing the environmental impact by plastic alternative.
・Optimization of global supply chains
By transferring the shipping operations to China, which were previously carried out from Japan, to the new corporation, we will significantly shorten the customs clearance lead time. This will allow us to build a supply system that can flexibly respond to customer needs and maximize business opportunities.
・ Establish a strategic base to accelerate expansion into the global market
With our Chinese subsidiary as a base, we will strengthen our sales structure in Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. By expanding the supply model established in China to various regions around the world, we will play a leading role in the international spread of LIMEX and recycled plastics.
