Sora Botanical Garden's "Plant Cultivation Kit," an officially licensed product for the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, is now on sale

Sora Botanical Garden Co., Ltd. has launched the "EXPO2025 Miyakumyaku Plant Cultivation Kit" and "EXPO2025 Miyakumyaku Gomimyaku Plant Cultivation Kit," special products for cultivating the future from seeds. These products use "LIMEX," low-carbon material derived from CO2, in the pots of the plant cultivation kits, utilizing CCU technology developed by TBM.

The 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo has adopted the theme of "Designing a Future Society for Life," and is promoting a wide range of environmentally friendly initiatives, from venue design to operation, including achieving carbon neutrality and a circular economy and preserving biodiversity.As an Expo aimed at serving as a testing ground for future society and placing sustainability at its core, it is expected that new materials and technologies that contribute to reducing environmental impact will be utilized.

CCU which reuses emitted CO2 as a resource, is attracting attention as an innovative technology that contributes to carbon neutrality. It is also positioned as one of the important initiatives in the GX (Green Transformation) strategy promoted by the Japanese government, and the government's "CCU Roadmap" sets the start of widespread use of CCU products as alternatives (general-purpose chemical products) to conventional general-purpose virgin plastics as around 2040.

We are manufacturing these plant cultivation kits with the hope of creating an opportunity to raise awareness of CCU and help people understand the importance of the global environment and plants through products that are familiar to people's daily lives.

The pot is made of LIMEX, a material that combines CO2-derived calcium carbonate and recycled plastic, and approximately 25% (by weight) of the pot contains CO2. The packaging is also made of LIMEX, which uses limestone as a raw material.
