■ Comments from the award winner
Tokuro Hatori (TBM Co., Ltd. Executive Officer, CSuO / Head of Sustainability Department)
We are very pleased to receive the prestigious Tokyo Financial Award. Since our founding, we have been challenging ourselves in developing environmentally friendly materials and material circulation In 2018, we formed a sustainability specialist team and have been working to expand the positive impact and minimize the negative impact through our business. TBM is unusual among unlisted startups in that we voluntarily answer the CDP questionnaire, an international ESG standard, every year and have also been working on disclosing non-financial information to investors. By working to promote sustainability in startups, where there are still few examples, we aim to not only create an impact through our business, but also to give back what we have learned to the startup community. We will continue to work hard with our customers, collaborative partners, and financial institutions to build a bridge to the future we want to move forward to.
