Started selling "adhesive inkjet media"
~Environmental performance that contributes to plastic and CO2 reduction,
Promoting the spread of indoor and outdoor advertising media and decorative applications~

TBM Co., Ltd., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Nobuyoshi Yamasaki; hereafter referred to as TBM) aims to expand its use in indoor and outdoor advertising media and decorations, and has developed the "LIMEX Sheet", which is made from limestone as the main raw material. We will start selling adhesive inkjet media using 80μm "Limex Sheet".
LIMEX Sheet can reduce the amount of plastic used in the above applications compared to the conventional plastic sheets. In addition, TBM's own factories that manufacture LIMEX Sheet (Shiroishi City, Miyagi Prefecture, Tagajo City) use electricity with virtually ``100% renewable energy'' and ``zero CO2 emission factor'', thereby reducing energy consumption throughout the product life cycle. We are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including CO 2.
This product uses a conventional vinyl chloride material by coating the surface of the LIMEX Sheet 80μm with a printable ink-receiving layer and coating the back with a gray adhesive. It has been realized to be used as adhesive inkjet media without the need for lamination or lamination. Compared to commonly used PVC inkjet media, it is expected to reduce the amount of petroleum-based used by approximately 64% and greenhouse gas emissions including CO 2 by approximately 65%*.
In the future, TBM will aim to realize a sustainable society, expand the number of sales partners for this product, and promote the spread of LIMEX Sheet in adhesive printed materials, including the sign graphics market.
*The evaluation target is the base material and ink receiving layer, and does not include the adhesive. This is an estimate by TBM based on specific specifications and manufacturing conditions (from raw material procurement to incineration), and is not a guaranteed value. There is a possibility of variation depending on specifications, manufacturing conditions, etc.
■ Features of "adhesive inkjet media" using LIMEX Sheet 80μm
1. Reduction of petroleum-based plastic usage and greenhouse gas emissions by not using PVC
Compared to general PVC adhesive inkjet media, it is expected to reduce the amount of petroleum-based plastic used by approximately 64% and greenhouse gas emissions including CO2 by approximately 65%.
2. No lamination required, suitable for a variety of uses
Since it is compatible with UV ink and latex ink, it can be used for outdoor event decorations and advertising materials without laminating.
3. Excellent printing suitability for clear printing
Because of its excellent color reproducibility, it has print quality comparable to that of general inkjet media.
