TBM Co., Ltd., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Nobuyoshi Yamasaki; hereinafter referred to as TBM) has begun selling the "like-it recycled material Stack-Up Container," a recycled container made from recycled LIMEX pellets and recycled plastic, as part of its efforts to material circulation LIMEX, an environmentally friendly material made primarily from limestone. This product was made possible through collaboration with Like-it Co., Ltd. (Head office: Katsuragi City, Nara Prefecture; CEO: Kazuki Yoshikawa; hereinafter referred to as Like-it), which plans, manufactures, and sells plastic daily necessities.
TBM is promoting the spread of material circulation models in partnership with local governments and businesses to realize a sustainable society. LIMEX products are classified as "plastic-using products" under the Plastic material circulation Promotion Act, and are as easy to recycle as products designed with a single material. There are many examples of mechanical recycling using LIMEX products in collaboration with businesses, consumers, and local governments.
We have now commercialized an environmentally friendly container made from 100% recycled plastic and "LIMEX UP Pellet," a recycled LIMEX product. This container uses the existing model of Like-it's "Stack Up Container 53," which won the Good Design Award in 2022, and is designed to last for many years. By utilizing physical foam molding technology, the container maintains the functionality and design of conventional products while eliminating the use of virgin petroleum-based plastics compared to conventional polypropylene, and is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including CO2, by approximately 26%. This product is available for purchase through "ZAIMA," an e-commerce site operated by TBM that sells environmentally friendly and sustainable products. It has also been added to the lineup of environmentally friendly products available to users of material circulation coordination service "MaaR for business."
TBM will continue to work on mechanical recycling of used LIMEX and plastic products, aiming to reduce environmental impact and promote material circulation.
