TBM's limestone-based "LIMEX Sheet" has been adopted for laminated posters at all Denny's stores operated by Seven & i Food Systems.

Seven & i Food Systems Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masami Komatsu; hereinafter referred to as "Seven & i Food Systems") is pleased to announce that it will gradually switch all laminated displays (posters, POP displays, etc.) at all 332 Denny's stores it operates to "LIMEX Sheet," made primarily from limestone and manufactured TBM Co., Ltd., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Nobuyoshi Yamasaki; hereinafter referred to as "TBM"). Previously, in-store displays at Denny's stores and LIMEX business cards used by Seven & i Food Systems were printed and supplied by Terube Co., Ltd. (Head office: Kitami City, Hokkaido; President and CEO: Keiko Fujimoto; hereinafter referred to as "Terube"), but these displays will be jointly supplied with TBM handling offset printing and Terube handling on-demand printing.

By replacing conventional PP film-laminated displays with LIMEX Sheet, we can reduce the amount of petroleum-based plastics used and the water required for manufacturing. Furthermore, by eliminating the use of wood pulp as a raw material, we can contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6 (Conservation of Water Resources), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), 13 (Climate Action), and 15 (Conservation of Terrestrial Ecosystems). Furthermore, by reducing the labor required for in-store lamination, we expect to significantly reduce store staff work hours. In June 2020, we established material circulation model (upcycling ^*1) in which LIMEX menu cards used at Seven & i Food Systems stores were collected and recycled as drink bar trays. Following this initiative, we are considering upcycling these displays as well, aiming to promote mechanical recycling through LIMEX.

^*1 Upcycling is different from recycling and reuse. It is a sustainable concept that takes unwanted items, transforms them into something new by adding new ideas, while preserving their original shape and characteristics, rather than discarding them.
