In July 2020, in order to respond to the growing need for recycled materials worldwide and to appropriately recycle used LIMEX and waste plastics, TBM will launch a material called "CirculeX" that contains more than 50% recycled materials. launched. This garbage bag, as the second in the CircleX garbage bag series, has a low environmental impact throughout its entire life cycle from "production" to "disposal" and has acquired Eco Mark certification attached to products that are recognized as useful for environmental conservation. Did. From the end of October, we plan to sell it at retail stores nationwide, such as supermarkets, home centers, and drug stores nationwide. In the future, TBM will promote product development in a wide range of areas in collaboration with external partners, such as packaging materials, logistics materials, and construction materials using CircleX.


Background

Approximately 6.3 billion tons of plastic waste is discarded worldwide, of which 79% is said to be landfilled or discharged into the natural environment*1. In Thailand, which is the country of production of this product and the raw material procurement source, "Thailand's Roadmap on Plastic Waste Management 2018-2030" was established in 2018 in light of the current situation where plastic recycling is not progressing. We have announced a goal to gradually reduce the amount of plastic used, aiming to completely eliminate plastic shopping bags, Styrofoam food containers, single-use plastic cups and straws, etc. by 2022. In addition, in Japan, the “Bill for Promotion of material circulation Related to Plastics” was passed in June 2021, requiring specific plastic products to be charged, sorted collection and recycling by municipalities and waste disposal companies.
