TBM and Vietnam’s FPT Sign Memorandum of Understanding for Strategic Collaboration on Corporate Decarbonization

“Integration of FPT’s solution with LIMEX creates a thorough approach for corporate decarbonization”

Tokyo, August 12, 2025 - TBM is pleased to announce that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with FPT IS Company Limited, the system-integration subsidiary of FPT Corporation, one of Vietnam’s largest IT conglomerates.
Through this strategic collaboration, the two companies will combine FPT’s carbon accounting solution “VertZéro” with TBM’s low-carbon, limestone-based material LIMEX to deliver integrated decarbonization solutions for enterprises in Vietnam and worldwide.

◾️The Background of the Agreement

Governments and regions numbering more than 150 have already declared 2050 net-zero targets,*1 and the global momentum to mandate disclosure of corporate greenhouse gas emissions continues to accelerate. In Vietnam, facilities that emit 3,000 t-CO₂ or more annually will be required to submit greenhouse gas emissions inventories beginning in 2025, while a domestic carbon-trading market is scheduled to launch in 2026.*2

Despite these advances, many corporations still struggle to measure and reduce supply-chain emissions, which account for roughly 70 percent of total corporate emissions.*3

Accordingly, FPT and TBM have combined the strengths of their respective solutions to establish an integrated framework that delivers seamless, end-to-end support—from visualizing emissions, through reducing them by adopting environmentally conscious materials, to reporting in line with international standards. VertZéro is a cloud-based platform that automates approximately eighty percent of data-collection tasks through AI-driven optical-character recognition and complies with ISO 14064 and the GHG Protocol, enabling end-to-end tracking, visualization, and reporting of corporate emissions. LIMEX, developed and manufactured by TBM, contains 50% or more inorganic material such as calcium carbonate and reduces plastic usage and greenhouse gas emissions compared to petroleum-based plastics.

◾️Partnership Details

Joint Solution Proposals

TBM and FPT will jointly present one another’s products and services to their respective customers. By establishing a framework that allows each company to recommend the other’s solutions, we can provide seamless, end-to-end support from emissions measurement through reduction.

・Potential Adoption of “LIMEX” into FPT’s Carbon Accounting Solution

In the sustainable-electronics field, TBM is developing an eco-conscious film-sensor device that uses LIMEX Sheet as its base material and is actively exploring the adoption of LIMEX for semiconductors in the sensors employed by FPT’s carbon accounting solution “VertZéro.” If adopted, the very deployment of VertZéro would itself contribute to lowering greenhouse gas emissions.

◾️Comments from TBM and FPT

・Taichi Yamaguchi (Managing Executive Officer and CSO, TBM Co., Ltd.)

One of TBM’s core missions is to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions generated throughout the life cycle of plastic products—from raw-material procurement to manufacturing and disposal—by popularizing LIMEX. When customers use FPT’s VertZéro together with LIMEX, they can visualize their own greenhouse gas emissions while accurately quantifying the reductions achieved through LIMEX adoption. TBM and FPT will combine the strengths of VertZéro and LIMEX to help customers in Vietnam and around the world solve their environmental challenges.

・Tran Duc Tri Quang (Vice President & Chief Data Officer of FPT IS, FPT Corporation)

At FPT, green transformation is not only a goal - it is a commitment to action. FPT aims to achieve Net Zero by 2040 through a comprehensive internal sustainability transition, while also pioneering the development of VertZéro - carbon accounting solution designed to help businesses accurately measure and effectively reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. The collaboration between FPT and TBM marks a significant milestone that reflects a shared vision for sustainable development. It lays a solid foundation for exchanging expertise, fostering innovation, and jointly accompanying the global business community on the path toward green transformation—advancing a circular economy and a low-emission future.
