"LIMEX" wins "Packaging Materials and Components" category at "WorldStar Global Packaging Awards 2025"

(hereinafter referred to as TBM) is pleased to announce that its environmentally conscious material "LIMEX" won the "Packaging Materials and Components" category at the WorldStar Global Packaging Awards 2025, one of the world's largest packaging competitions hosted by the World Packaging Organization. The WorldStar Global Packaging Awards is an international competition for packaging technology that is a prestigious event in the packaging industry, and in 2025, more than 550 works that won national selections from over 40 countries around the world were nominated.

■ The Award Summary

LIMEX is an environmentally friendly material whose main raw material is inorganic matter such as calcium carbonate (derived from limestone and _CO2). By using LIMEX as an alternative to conventional plastics, it is expected that the amount of petroleum-based plastic used and CO2 emissions will be reduced compared to conventional products that are 100% petroleum-based plastic. It is compatible with a variety of products such as bags, container packaging, illuminated sheets and printed matter, and has already been adopted by over 10,000 companies and municipalities. In addition to production at our own domestic facilities, we also offer OEM manufacturing of materials and products through a fabless model in collaboration with partners both in Japan and overseas. In recent years, adoption of our materials has been expanding in a wide range of product packaging applications, including in the food and detergent industries abroad.

Besides the environmental benefits of LIMEX, the judging committee also highly praised it for its functionality and practicality, including its price competitiveness and quality that meets the strict product standards of each country and industry, which led to the award.
