The material circulation Promotion Council, a general incorporated association established primarily by TBM Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Nobuyoshi Yamasaki; hereinafter referred to as TBM), has begun operations. The material circulation Promotion Council is a new organization that collaborates with leading start-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises, and large corporations that promote the circular economy and climate change countermeasures, as well as partners such as local governments, experts, government ministries, and related organizations. Toward the realization of a Decarbonization society through the creation of a sustainable, circular, and symbiotic society, the council will propose necessary policies and legislation, and implement and disseminate effective material circulation models to society.
The board members of material circulation Promotion Council, a general incorporated association, are key figures active in a wide range of fields in the circular economy, sustainability, and startups, including practitioners at the forefront of environmental administration and material circulation-related rule-making, top executives of major companies that play a central role in the arterial and venous industries, and professionals involved in supporting the creation of new industries and startups and sustainability management. TBM will serve as the secretariat for the operation of the conference.
The organization will transcend the boundaries of industries and companies, aiming to lead Japan to become a global leader in the circular economy by achieving "material circulation that connects the arteries and veins of a supply chain that has high environmental value and international competitiveness," "creating value through green innovation by utilizing DX (digital transformation) technology," and "creating Decarbonization, low-environmental-impact regional circulation model by forming a regional circulation symbiotic sphere."
About the material circulation Promotion Council
The material circulation Promotion Council (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Nobuyoshi Yamasaki; Established: August 30, 2023) collaborates with various stakeholders in the arteries and veins of material circulation, including manufacturers and retailers, waste generators, collection and transportation companies, recycling businesses, local governments, and experts. We propose necessary policies and legal frameworks to realize a Decarbonization society through the creation of a sustainable, circular, and symbiotic society, and we implement and disseminate effective material circulation models. Furthermore, in the ever-growing circular economy market, financial institutions promoting sustainable finance are increasingly interested in the innovations being realized among existing arterial and venous players and the emergence of a succession of circular economy startups. We also provide opportunities for networking and business creation among our members, contributing to the expansion of the circular economy market.
