TBM and Glory jointly develop "LX Coat" ballot paper using "LIMEX Sheet"

Achieving both environmental performance and functionality, and promoting mechanical recycling to recover and recycle after use

TBM Co., Ltd., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Nobuyoshi Yamasaki, hereinafter referred to as TBM) is Glory Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, We are pleased to announce that we have jointly developed ballot paper "LX Coat" (patent pending) using "LIMEX Sheet", which is made mainly of limestone, with President Jun Miwamoto, hereinafter referred to as "Glory". This product will be on sale at Glory's official online store ALMOTT from August 1, 2023.

Compared to general synthetic paper, LIMEX Sheet can reduce the amount of petroleum-based plastics used and greenhouse gas emissions including CO2. In addition, compared to paper, it does not use any wood pulp as a raw material for the product, which greatly reduces the amount of water used during manufacturing, contributing to the conservation of forests and water resources. This time, by combining the special processing technology that TBM has cultivated through the development of LIMEX materials and Glory's recognition and identification technology, we have developed a ballot paper "LX Coat" that can be measured with existing tallying machines. Because it is more durable than ordinary paper, it is less prone to creases, and even if the ballot paper is folded and mailed, it will immediately open back up in the box, allowing for smoother ballot counting. "LX Coat" comes in 17 color variations and is effective even when multiple elections are held at the same time. In the future, we will work with GLORY to promote mechanical recycling by collecting and recycling used LX Coat after the storage period has expired.
