Japanese Only - TBM strengthens management structure for business growth in Japan and overseas
Appointed Mr. Jeonghwan Lee as an outside director
TBM Co., Ltd., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Nobuyoshi Yamasaki; hereinafter referred to as TBM) appointed Lee Jeong-hwan, Vice President of SK Japan Investment within the SK Group of South Korea, as a new Outside Director at its 12th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders held on March 30, 2023. In addition, with an organizational structure of over 300 people, TBM decided at the Board of Directors meeting immediately after the General Meeting of Shareholders to transition to a system of management by executive officers, with the aim of accelerating, enhancing, and streamlining decision-making.
As resource use increases due to global population growth, environmental issues and climate change must be addressed. TBM's mission is to "Bridging today and the future we want." Toward the realization of Decarbonization society and a circular economy, the company is working to promote LIMEX, a new limestone-based material, both domestically and internationally, and to build and operate a resource management and material circulation platform. In 2022, the company opened its Yokosuka Plant, Japan's largest recycling plant, which automatically sorts and recycles LIMEX and plastic. The company is also expanding its business globally, aiming to achieve its ambitious goals, the TBM Pledge 2030, of becoming carbon negative by 2030 and recycling one million tons of LIMEX and plastic in 50 countries by 2030.
Through the newly appointed outside directors and new management structure, we aim to achieve further business growth and strengthen our management foundation both domestically and internationally, and to realize a "Sustainability Revolution" on a global scale.

I am deeply humbled and humbled by the opportunity to serve as an outside director of TBM, one of the few unicorn companies in Japan that is engaged in environmentally friendly business. Our SK Group also pays particular attention to environmentally friendly businesses and continues to seek opportunities to help grow companies that can make a significant contribution to society as a whole. As TBM is also the first company in which SK Japan Investment has invested, we would like to further deepen the relationship between the two companies and contribute to the achievement of their respective goals.
